Have you ever heard of Chive Flowers?
I went to a Korean grocery the other day and got some chive flowers. My friend introduced me to these yummy vegis few months ago and they are so easy to prepare and absolutely delicious! I grew up eating garlic chives called “Nira” in Japanese, but I love chive flowers because they are not as strong flavored as Nira. I sauté them lightly with sesame oil and salt and that’s it! Super easy and great side to any dish. I also made Korean pork belly wrap using ooba (perilla) leaves, inspired by this recipe.
…also, I baked red velvet cake using zinfandel and coco nibs. I can’t tell you where I got the recipe yet but this was pretty awesome cake. Best yet, it requires no food coloring!!
